Malaysia marks the first market in the world outside the Netherlands to locally assemble the new MINI Countryman. Here are some of the key aspects that make the Cooper S stand out:

Built for the adventurer
Fitted with the MINI John Cooper Works Aerodynamic Kit, the vehicle’s bold, racing-inspired appearance is accentuated with typical MINI bonnet stripes and its hexagonal grille. To cool the brakes, the Aerodynamics Kit has included a front apron with built-in air ducts. The kit also includes a rear bumper with a diffuser design and MINI John Cooper Works door sill finishers.

High performance guaranteed

The car is powered by a 2-litre, 4-cylinder MINI TwinPower Turbo Engine coupled with 8-speed Sports Automatic Transmission with Paddle Shifters. Thus, the car, capable of delivering 192hp and 280Nm of Torque, can easily go from 0 to 100km/h in just 7.4 seconds. It can also achieve a top speed of 224 km/h, while only consuming 6.5 liters of fuel per 100km.

The Anthracite Headliner creates a harmonious ambience interior

The Anthracite details can also be seen on the sun visors, the housing of the inner lighting and the roof grab handles in the rear. But colour is not the sole reason that makes the interior visually arresting – the infotainment and driving experience are heightened with the addition of an 8.8’’ TouchScreen Display with Navigation, Harman Kardon hi-fi loudspeaker system (which boasts a generous 360-watt output) that’s been fine-tuned to ensure music can be enjoyed to the fullest from every seat.

Smart parking assistance

With the Park Assist, the Control Display can now show the status when you need to estimate the size of your parking space. Once a space has been detected, it’s measured by ultrasound sensors before the Park Assistant works out the best way to approach the space and takes control of the steering. All you have to do is operate the accelerator and brake pedals.

MINI COUNTRYMAN PLUG-IN HYBRID

Not to forget, the premium automotive brand also launched the new MINI Countryman Plug-In Hybrid, the first Plug-In Hybrid variant of the successful premium Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) from MINI. The first of its kind in MINI, the new variant features the petrol engine powering the front wheels and an electric motor powering the rear wheels.

Performance-wise, the new plug-in hybrid can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in just 6.8 seconds, and can reach a maximum speed of 198km/h. All this is achievable with only a consumption of 2.1 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers. A purely electric drive option is also available, where drivers can drive at speeds up to 120km/h covered purely on electric power.

The new MINI Countryman is available at all authorised MINI dealerships nationwide now, as well as the Volts & Vibes Roadshow happening from April 13 to June 24. The retail price (without insurance and with GST) of this new Countryman – with four years’ unlimited mileage warranty with free scheduled service is RM245,888.
