Porsche 911 GT3 launched in Malaysia

It closes the gap between everyday driving and the racetrack by mere hundredths of a second.

Although the speeds that the new Porsche 911 GT3 can achieve are best tested on the track of the Sepang International Circuit, launching it at Bangsar Shopping Centre last month was a wonderful way to allow as many people as possible to ogle it, providing enthusiasts a first-hand glimpse into the new generation of the radical 911.

It closes the gap between everyday driving and the racetrack by mere hundredths of a second. The car is powered by a four-litre 500hp engine — which is extremely high revving and naturally aspirated — that is virtually unchanged from the thoroughbred 911 GT3 Cup racing car. The redesigned chassis with rear-axle steering and lightweight construction is specifically tuned to convert the engine power into superior dynamics. Porsche’s motorsport technology has again been incorporated into a road-approved sportscar, which was developed on the same test track and manufactured on the same production line as its racing cars. As is expected of Porsche, the 911 GT3’s interiors are pure class — right from the sport steering wheel from the 918 Spyder to the dynamics of the Porsche Sports Seats Plus with enhanced side seat bolsters. Other bells and whistles include an online navigation module with real-time traffic information as well as the Track Precision App, which enables you to display, record and analyse detailed driving data on your smartphone.

The price of such driving excellence? RM1.7 million. Visit Porsche for details or to book a test drive.
