Maverick watchmaker Richard Mille has partnered luminaries from all fields to best position its spectacular watches, and it now welcomes on board its first navigator. Pierre Casiraghi, a known entrepreneur and son of Princess Caroline of Hanover (the daughter of Monaco’s Prince Rainier III and Grace Kelly), is to be the face of the Les Voiles de St Barth regatta and the patron of its 10th edition, wearing the RM 60-01 Regatta Flyback Chronograph.

The prestigious regatta, which takes place this April on its namesake Caribbean island, has seen an impressive line-up of patrons since its inception in 2010, including Jimmy Buffett, Sir Peter Harrison, Jim Swartz, Jean Todt and Gérard Saillant. Casiraghi is in good company here and earned his place after gaining experience aboard Tuiga, the flagship of Monaco’s Yacht Club, an institution of which he is today vice-president.

He has sailed on legendary boat models and won numerous distinguished prizes, such as the Cape to Rio Yacht Race (he still holds the record), the Fastnet Race (placed in the doubles category) and the Middle Sea Race (line honours). He formed his own sailing team in 2016 and acquired a new-generation catamaran, christened Malizia (the Cunning) in charming reference to the Grimaldi family history, to compete in the GC32 category.
