A divine three-course meal, ample servings of drinks and one-of-a-kind experience capsule were the order of the day during a private luncheon co-hosted by BMW Group Malaysia and The Edge Malaysia on Sept 19 in honour of the premium automaker brand’s 20 years of excellence.

The elegant luncheon also doubled as a platform to celebrate the captivating space of Forwardism — curated by BMW — where state-of-the-art technology and luxury that push the boundaries of automotive excellence can be experienced.

“Forwardism stands for luxury, innovation and sustainability,” said BMW Group Malaysia managing director Hans de Visser during the luncheon.

Forwardism is the joy of seeing and feeling the future before it’s been created and continually challenging convention to push for certainty of a better experience when we get there, according to BMW.

Guests were treated to a special unveiling of BMW’s latest all-electric luxury sedan, the BMW i7, in the centre of a pop-up capsule next to Mandarin Oriental in Kuala Lumpur.

The BMW Curved Display and BMW Interaction Bar between the almost invisible air vents complement the whole journey in the pop-up capsule. Glittering details such as the “Crafted Clarity” crystal glass application refine the experience.

The BMW i7 merges elegance, comfort and a piece of art technology to create an immersive and luxurious ambience. The interior is minimalist, modern and clean.

The car also combines electric performance and multisensory entertainment to produce an unforgettable motoring experience.

Guests also had the opportunity to discover the exciting range of 100%-electric BMW vehicles, namely the BMW iX1, iX3, iX and i4.

“I think for the automotive industry — of course, it is a big key factor in this journey to reduce carbon emissions — and I think BMW is one of the auto companies at the forefront of doing this,” said The Edge Media Group publisher and group CEO Datuk Ho Kay Tat.

In the first eight months of 2023, BMW Malaysia delivered over 1,600 electrified BMW, MINI and BMW Motorrad cars, surpassing the total 1,557 electric vehicles (EVs) it sold in 2022. This further cemented its status as the number one premium automaker in Malaysia, a position it has held for the last three years.

BMW Malaysia is now thrilled to lead the charge in Malaysia’s electrification journey, bolstered by the support of its loyal customers, dealers and partners alike.
