Electromobility leaps to the apex of the luxury pyramid as Mercedes-Benz unveiled its long-awaited all-electric Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV. Over an exclusive private dinner for just 60 selected guests, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia introduced the motoring masterpiece that seamlessly blends unrivalled opulence with cutting-edge innovation and an unwavering commitment to responsibility and sustainability.

Nadia Trimmel, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s vice president of marketing and sales, shared how “it is designed for individuals who appreciate rarity, craftsmanship and the finest materials — those who value both sophistication and sustainability. Our customers are visionaries, industry leaders and connoisseurs of excellence who want an electric vehicle that doesn’t just meet expectations but redefines them. It’s for those who see their car as an extension of their personal expression and values”.

After a sumptuous dinner, paired with several expressions of cognac from Martell and operatic entertainment by Datuk Syafinaz Selamat, the new Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV glided silently onto the stage, allowing guests to get up close. Aesthetes immediately recognised the iconic Maybach radiator grille while those who appreciate space and comfort admired the car’s interiors and exquisitely crafted cabins with first-class rear and executive seating. This is also the first Mercedes-Benz model to incorporate sustainably processed leather.

It is clear the latest offerings from the Stuttgart marque have successfully redefined automotive opulence for the new era, combining the classic traditions of car-making with electric mobility to create an elevated art form. Which brings to mind a famous quote from legendary German engine designer and industrialist Wilhelm Maybach who once opined, “What is good must also be beautiful.”
