The writer, whose fifth novel 'histoire de l’homme qui ne voulait pas mourir' took home the Swiss Literature Prize last year, also highlighted the value and integrity of human creatives during a talk held in Kuala Lumpur.
Having found his way from law to literature, he turned to writing as a medium for blending historical truth, worldly perspectives and moral calling in his new title.
Published in May this year, the book draws from the Singaporean author's personal experiences and follows a pair of sisters as they grow up together and eventually, apart.
