For a change from all the home-cooked goodness you'll be making over the next two weeks, the Options team has compiled a list of restaurants that remain open for business and will either deliver to you or allow pick-ups. We are a week into this unprecedented Movement Control Order, fellow Malaysians, and we shall see this through together. But by George, we will eat well through it.

PichaEats
Refugee support enterprise PichaEats is offering meal packages that cater for families and small groups. Priced between RM99 and RM180 for five people, the packages include dishes such as buttermilk chicken, chicken gulai, shawarma wraps, eggplant in tomato stew, hummus and basmati rice, as well as vegan superfood. Keep the children quiet while you work with snacks such as a trio of chicken wings and meatballs. PichaEats’ slogan — “As they are putting food on your table, you are putting food on theirs” — has never been more meaningful than now, when we are leaning on each other.

Order closes by 11am a day before delivery. Order here.

The Soul Society
The Soul Society’s kitchens — which include all SOULed Out outlets and Tujo/Goa Hubba Mont Kiara — are open for curbside pick-ups or deliveries until the end of the month. Patrons can order food or drinks via GrabFood or ring up the outlets to order and pick up between noon and 9pm daily. You also have the option of paying at the restaurants as there are secure pay wave terminals to ensure minimum contact. Self-collect and SOUL Society delivery customers will enjoy a 20% discount on their total bill.

Call SOULed OUT Kuala Lumpur (Hartamas) at 012 200 1956/012 650 5722; SOULed OUT Ampang at 012 655 7622; SOULed OUT Bangsar South at 013 613 1663; and Tujo at 012 210 3055 to place your orders.

Troika Sky Dining
This restaurant’s unrivalled view of the Kuala Lumpur skyline, thanks to its location in the middle of the city, matches the excellence of its dishes. But as we cannot enjoy the restaurant’s fare or the view for now, the F&B group — which owns Canteloupe, Strato, Fuego and Mr Chew’s Chino Latino — is offering to bring a sliver of luxury right to your dining room. From Mr Chew’s signature Nori Tacos and Grilled Chicken with Pickled Onion to Strato’s Margarita pizza, fine-dining can now be experienced in the comfort of your home.

Yu by Ruyi
This period may just be the best opportunity to yum cha as a family, dim sum-style. Yu by Ruyi in The Gardens Mall is offering free delivery to KL, PJ and Cheras with a minimum order of RM200. Give the truffle seafood dumplings a try or the beancurd rolls with oyster sauce. The charcoal custard flowy bun is also recommended. For mains, Yu’s claypot rice selections are popular, especially the miso soft shell crab, salted fish steamed meat cake and ma po tofu. But you may want to opt for the award-winning crab curry fried rice, scallops and prawn curry glutinous rice instead, or even the wagyu beef with crispy noodles. There is the option of having your dim sum order non-steamed, so you can have it piping hot at home anytime you want.

Peninsular Imports
Let us be honest, two weeks of staying indoors might sound easy to some but utterly dreadful to others. To help you cope, Peninsular Imports is delivering wines straight to your doorstep. Its wide selection of whites and reds includes the silky white Château Montus Blanc 2012 and French red Maxime Magnon Campagnès 2017. Have a birthday or anniversary coming up? Opt for a bottle of Tendil & Lombardi Blanc De Noirs NV champagne and celebrate your occasion indoors.

Call or WhatsApp (019) 276 9576 to order or to view the full wine list.

Dolly Dim Sum
Dim sum is best eaten one bite at a time with a quick dip into the sauce or chilli. When better to enjoy this delicate cuisine than now, when you are house-bound and have hours to spare. Dolly Dim Sum, which offers authentic selections all day, is reaching out to consumers via WhatsApp so you can continue to savour yummy fare at home. The free delivery service — until March 31 and from 11am to 9pm daily — is available with a minimum spend of RM50. It applies to locations within 10km of Dolly Dim Sum’s seven outlets in KL and PJ. Place your order, review your bill, make an online transfer payment, forward the payment slip and wait for the delivery person to show up. It is not advisable but you can pick up the order yourself and get 20% off the bill at selected outlets.

Last delivery order is at 7.30pm. To order, Whatsapp message the Avenue-K outlet at 012 678 7842, The Curve outlet at 012 647 7842, Sunway Pyramid outlet at 012 201 8191 and IOI City outlet at 012 264 2018.

Table & Apron’s famous fried chicken is available to-go, alongside signature dishes such as ulam-herbed crab rice, duck confit spaghetti, charred eggplant, roasted cauliflower and even tiramisu for dessert. Wash down you meal with either black coffee, kombucha or an ice-cold crafts beer.
