To make things easier, we’ve highlighted some must-dos and visits that will make the most out of your time (and stomach).
Dec 13: Signature Restaurants
A series of exclusive menus, dinners and cocktail soirees helmed by celebrity chefs await culinary elites on the first day. Paying homage to his hometown, Austrian-American chef Wolfgang Puck will host an exclusive Back to My Roots dinner (SG$250++ per person with optional Austrian wine-pairing, 7pm) at his Michelin-starred CUT restaurant featuring authentic recipes reminiscent of his favourite childhood flavours.
Guests can also enjoy a four-course sake pairing dinner at Japanese restaurant KOMA, hosted by chef Kunihiro Moroi (SG$225++ per person, 7pm) and be treated to five specially-curated Bijofu sakes from the illustrious Hamakawa Shoten brewery. To top it off, the experience will include an exclusive meet-and-greet and Q&A session with Naoaki Hamakawa, the fourth-generation owner of Hamakawa Shoten.
Dec 14-15: Sands Expo and Convention Centre
Best known for its powerhouse line-up of signature restaurant booths, the Epicurean Market will welcome new participants this year, including New York’s snazzy burger joint Black Tap and Marina Bay Sands’ newest European-inspired patisserie Origin+Bloom, amongst over 50 other booths.
For drinks, head over to the Epicurean Bar, which will feature specialty cocktails by leading bartenders and mixologists from 12 of Marina Bay Sands’ top restaurants. Don’t miss Avenue Lounge’s popular Banana Cue cocktail made from Bacardi 8 Rum, Bols Crème de Banana, Gula Melaka, Angostura Bitters and Bitter Truth Chocolate Bitters and Renku Bar & Lounge’s Sakura Blossom Martini made from Roku Gin, Luxardo Maraschino, Cocchi Americano and Sakura Vermouth. Patrons will also have the chance to sample some of Mott 32’s tipples in an exclusive preview before their doors open in early 2020.
Epicurean Market ticket holders can enjoy complimentary access to all masterclasses led by several culinary icons. Chef Tetsuya Wakuda and Ikejime master Naoki Maeda from Waku Ghin will roll up their sleeves and demonstrate how to prepare fish to preserve its superior quality (Dec 14, 12.30pm) while chef David Myers from Adrift will host a quick step-by-step lesson on assembling his popular Pork Katsu Sandwich paired with an innovative matching smokey cocktail (Dec 15, 3.15pm).
The Epicurean Market 2019 2-Day Pass is priced at SG$49 for adults and SG$24 for children (6-12 years). For a VIP experience, reserve a table for friends and family at an additional SG$32 per person to eliminate queuing time at the restaurant booths and for four-hour lunch or dinner timeslots.
