What can be more ‘horrifying’ than a Halloween celebration? A poorly planned party. We’ve rounded up three spots in the city, complete with music, food and fun activities, that are sure to make for a killer night.
The Glenmorangie x Saint Pierre Kuala Lumpur
While the kids are out trick-or-treating, join chef Emmanuel Stroobant of two-Michelin-star French restaurant Saint Pierre Singapore for a unforgettable Halloween menu at his KL outpost. Inspired by his favourite horror films, the six-course dinner will be paired with six different single malt Scotch whiskies from Glenmorangie. Look out for Stroobant’s edible interpretation of The Silence of The Lambs, It, The Ring, Voodoo Rising, The Farm and I Baked Him A Cake.
L8, W Hotel, 121, Jalan Ampang, KL. Oct 31, 7pm. RM666++ per person. Call 03 2732 5008 or email [email protected] for reservations.
Kyo KL, Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur
Before you hit the party circuit, make Kyo KL at Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur your first port of call. Adults of drinking age can partake in a bevy of Halloween activities at the underground bar, which will be decked out like an abandoned art gallery festooned with life-like paintings. Guests are not required to show up in costume but seeing there’s a theme and electro house music, dressing up could just well add to the fun.
Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur. Oct 31, 11pm-4am. No cover charge for ladies; cover charge for men including one drink, RM50 before 1am; RM60 after 1am. Jug entry applies for all night long, RM150 nett. Book via 012 921 1730 or [email protected].
The Iron Scaries II
The shower of ethereal butterflies hanging at The Iron Fairies, TREC’s biggest and most decorated entertainment hub, will be entangled in webs this Halloween for its second Iron Scaries party. Don your best Halloween costume to enter and stand a chance to win intoxicating prizes. While you’re there, don’t forget to treat yourself to their exclusive Halloween cocktails — eyeballs, skeleton and spiders included.
H-G-06, 438, Jalan Tun Razak, KL. Oct 31-Nov 1, 10pm. See here for more info.
