'The Last Jedi'-inspired shoes by Christian Louboutin

A collection that will make 'Star Wars' fans head over heels.

You know a Louboutin when you see one. The killer stilettos with their trademark red soles have become a representation of style and luxury. But what draws the eye to a Louboutin this time is the designer’s effort to celebrate femininity. And there’s no better way (and time) to do that than creating five pairs of “The Last Jedi”-inspired shoes for charity.

The shoes, inspired by four of the movie’s leading ladies Rey (Daisy Ridley), Admiral Holdo (Laura Dern), Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie) and Star Wars newbie Rose Tico (Kelly Marie Tran), will not be available to the public as they will be auctioned off as part of Lucasfilm’s ongoing charitable endeavour, Force for Change. A fifth not-yet-revealed pair will be unveiled at the film’s Los Angeles premiere.

The one-of-a-kind collection will be presented on the red carpet in a red crystal display case that features holographic effects and guarded by the Praetorian Guards (an elite force tasked with the protection of Supreme Leader Snoke, the leader of the First Order) clad in glossy red armour.

While each shoe is unique, every one of them is accented with a bespoke jewel that resembles the TIE fighter’s side panels. Rey’s design is an ankle-strap leather sandal with a glittery blue heel that evokes the colour of her lightsaber. The pumps in pleated burgundy fabric references Admiral Holdo’s draped cape while the silver specchio leather yokes and curved heel are inspired by Captain Phasma’s armour. Last but not least, the most practical-looking golden shoe echoes the colour of Tico’s jumpsuit.

On behalf of Star Wars: Force for Change, a portion of the proceeds will benefit Starlight Children’s Foundation, which supports critically ill children in hospitals.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens Dec 15.
