Known for its strategic and scenic location that straddles Ubud’s rainforest and the sacred Wos River, the Bill Bensley-designed Capella Ubud scooped the top gong in Travel + Leisure’s highly anticipated annual World’s Best Awards.

The awards organised by the New York-based magazine also named Capella Hotels and Resorts the second best Hotel Brand in the World.

Guests who have stayed on the Capella premises would be familiar with their highly-touted designs and polished experiences that come with a twist of the unexpected. A good hotel experience helps to shake off the limitation of retail tourism by allowing its guests to experience a new place as the locals do.

Therefore, to help guests travel meaningfully, an expert team of Capella Culturist spends time scouring each locale they’re based in to provide guests with unique moments that capture the destination’s storied past and present. From learning how to make Indonesian elixir to discovering rituals of ethnic minorities, every on- and off-site experiences at Capella Ubud seeks to bridge the gap between the local community and guests.

As a token of gratitude to voters and guests for their support, Capella Hotels and Resorts have launched a “Dream Now, Travel Later” offer across all properties where exclusive rates await guests who are eager to fly again when travel resumes.

Bali isn’t the only island getaway travellers can opt from — Capella Bangkok, featuring expansive suites and villas overlooking the Chao Phraya River, as well as a restaurant helmed by three-Michelin-starred chef Mauro Colagreco’s that marks his first foray into Asia, will make its debut later this year.
