As Malaysians can now travel to Sri Lanka without having to quarantine, check out Avani Kalutara Resort’s Rediscover Avani package, which offers savings on all rooms and suites, as well as complimentary spa treatments and activities.

Designed in 1994 by Geoffrey Bawa, one of Asia’s revered architects, the Avani Kalutara has fully renovated suites, including pool suites with their own private plunge pools. The rooms are done up in crisp clean colours, from modernist white to purple and cobalt blue, giving guests a relaxed and beautiful setting to spend their holidays in. The hotel is located at the confluence of the Kalu River and the Indian Ocean and its triton-like layout is almost like a tribute to the sea it faces.

The Rediscover Avani package includes daily breakfast; an additional 30 minutes tacked onto every 60-minute spa session; and 15% off activities such as water sports, rifle shooting, archery and ziplining. Guests who stay for five nights or more will receive a welcome bottle of bubbly, a personal guided Bawa tour of Avani Kalutara Resort and daily complimentary dinner for suite bookings.

There is an endless list of activities to enjoy on this holiday. Take day trips to the historic city of Galle down the coast, visit Avani Kalutara’s sister property Anantara Kalutara Resort to relax at its spa, or simply kick back and catch some rays at the pool with a cocktail in hand. The more adventurous can explore the Glider Adventure Tower for activities such as ziplining, climbing, abseiling and water sports, or get your sweat on at the 24-hour gym.

Do not forget to indulge in the rich Sri Lankan cuisine. Mangrove restaurant should be your first stop as it supports local farmers and fishermen and champions the freshest ingredients. There is also the Pantry by Avani for a cup of Ceylon tea, cinnamon-flecked morning buns and artisanal sandwiches.

For a minimum stay of two nights, the “Rediscover Avani” package is available for booking until March 31, with stays until April 19. For more information or to make a reservation, visit avanihotels.com.
