Which came first — the chicken or the egg? This question that ponders the science of time and order has long haunted and amused many. Luxury Swiss watch manufacturer H Moser & Cie is saying
“Who cares?” with the release of the Pioneer Centre Seconds Sunny-Side Up. A vibrant and playful addition to the maker’s Pioneer collection, this timepiece evoking the appearance of an egg fresh off the frying pan is a reminder that while it can be fun to wonder about the past or future, living in the now is ultimately the most rewarding.

Encircled in a 40mm steel case, the yellow fumé dial represents the golden yolk. Featuring a sunburst pattern, this radiant façade comes with faceted applique indices and leaf-shaped hands, all finished with Super-LumiNova for optimum readability in low-light conditions. Running at a 21,600vph frequency, the HMC 201 automatic calibre with a bidirectional pawl winding system and engraved oscillating weight offers a three-day power reserve. That is not all, for the movement also has Moser double stripes and an anthracite finish (we suggest taking a closer peek at the fine details yourself through the see-through caseback).

For the egg whites, a perforated rubber strap with a logo-engraved steel pin buckle accompanies the watch, giving the piece a sporty and versatile feel. For a sleeker, dressier look, it is easily switched out for a steel bracelet.
