Following the unveiling of Zenith’s Aaron Rodgers Edition Chronomaster Sport watch, the Swiss brand returns with more horological partnerships. Unveiled at Dubai Watch Week, the Defy Skyline Skeleton Night Surfer El Primero marks Zenith’s second collaborative model with Melbourne-based watch magazine Time+Tide.

The pair first linked up in 2021 for a 100-piece limited-edition Defy Classic Skeleton Night Surfer, which emulates the illuminating hues of nighttime and the ocean on its dial. In this new reference that still echoes its predecessor’s aesthetic codes with metallic blue accents and a titanium build, the Skyline Skeleton is bolder, bluer and technically brawnier, thanks to the latest generation of the high-frequency automatic El Primero calibre. The objective is to retain all the elements that made the original Night Surfer so outstanding while incorporating improvements in the sequel.

A first for the Skyline Skeleton model, the entire angular 41mm case with its dodecagonal bezel and integrated bracelet are crafted in microblasted titanium, lending it a homogeneous, subdued grey tone with minimal light reflection. The entire four-pointed star on the dial is highlighted with luminescent lines that come to life in the dark, making the shape much more visible and brighter. The dial features a unique feature among skeleton watches: a running 1/10th of a second indicator positioned at six o’clock.

Limited to just 200 pieces, the watch is exclusively available on Time+Tide’s digital store and Zenith’s online boutique worldwide.
