Introduced in 2022, Parmigiani Fleurier’s Tonda PF Skeleton exemplifies refined contemporary design and ingenuity with its sculptural interwoven metal make and open-sky mechanism. Now, the manufacture has released a 50-piece limited edition of the modern icon in a sleek stainless steel build with luminous Slate Green colourway.
The watch’s intricate lattice-like elements simultaneously salutes Parmigiani’s innovative spirit as well as the traditional craft of skeletonisation — an art form that has, year after year, remained a key part of the brand’s identity. The metallic dial, inspired by Le Corbusier’s colour palette, interacts with light to create a dynamic intermingling of reflections and shadows. Timepieces of this kind commonly encounter issues with readability. Here, this is alleviated through suspended indices and rhodium-plated openworked hands, further emphasising the design’s airy, weightless feel.

The piece springs to life, thanks to the PF 777 Calibre, a 192 component mechanism with bevelled details and an openworked barrel. A white-gold oscillating weight, sand-blasted, polished and engraved with the house logo, sits under a sapphire crystal disc. Satin-finish bridges and a 60-hour power reserve make it a movement that looks as good as it works.
Polished stainless steel is used to craft both case and bracelet. A platinum knurled bezel hugs the green watchface. The words “Swiss made”, “Parmigiani Fleurier” and “1 of 50” have been etched onto the back. The piece is water-resistant to 100m and secured around the wrist with a folding clasp.
