Rolex and Phillips are teaming up to auction four one-of-a-kind Cosmograph Daytona timepieces for the luxury Swiss watch brand’s Perpetual Planet Initiative. Each piece uses a unique combination of rare gems and distinct hues to capture the spirit of a season, merging fine watchmaking with the timeless rhythms of nature.
Embodying a period of renewal, the 18-carat white gold Ref 126599 SAVL pairs an apple-green chrysoprase dial with lavender lepidolite counters. A purple sapphire bezel and hour markers complement the 40mm case, which shines with diamond-set lugs and crown guards.
Meanwhile, the 18-carat Everose gold Ref 126595 SARO encapsulates the vibrancy of summer with a turquoise dial, heart of ruby counters and pink sapphire hour markers. Similarly, 36 trapeze-cut pink sapphires encircle the bezel.
Evoking the rich hues of autumnal leaves, the Ref 126598 TML in 18-carat yellow gold frames an expressive mookaite dial alongside chrysoprase counters, all set off by green tourmalines.
Winter is depicted through the Ref 126596 SABV in 950 platinum. Mesmerising blue opal entrances with lapis lazuli counters and diamond hour markers. The bezel is also set with 36 trapeze-cut sapphires but this time in a blue to fuchsia gradient.
Auction proceeds will support causes led by Rolex Testimonees Roger Federer and Leonardo DiCaprio. The funds will be split between the tennis legend’s Federer Foundation, focused on early learning in Southern Africa and Switzerland, and Re:wild, the actor’s environmental non-profit dedicated to protecting global ecosystems.
Through its Perpetual Planet Initiative, Rolex has been supporting organisations and projects working across exploration, environmental conservation, ocean protection and wilderness preservation. “True excellence is measured not only by the quality of our products, but also by the positive impact we can have on the world”, noted CEO Jean-Frédéric Dufour.
The auction will take place in London on Sept 28 with Phillips conducting the sale.
