In hindsight, dining in a crowded restaurant and enjoying food with loved ones was a luxury many of us have taken for granted. Who knew something so simple as being around people could be something we missed so dearly? If you're bored of your weekly rotation of recipes, try out these food kits prepared by some of KL's well-loved eateries and bring the restaurant experience to your home.  Most of the kits involve simple steps and require minimal effort to put together. Best of all, everything is pre-portioned and prepped so there's no wastage.

Entier French Dining
Entier’s single-serve home cooking kits are convenient and require minimal effort to assemble. The selection includes two pastas: the escargot and beef ragout with hand-made semolina spaghetti and toppings. For dessert, try the restaurant’s signature chocolate soufflé — made with 70% single-origin Pahang chocolate — which only requires seven minutes in the oven. Step-by-step instructions are included in each kit.

Dewakan
If you’re missing out on group dinners, the award-winning Darren Teoh-helmed restaurant has recently introduced a “happy meal” that feeds up to four people. Dewakan, one of the first restaurants to introduce food kits to ease our cooking chores during MCO, has added braised beef short ribs glazed with roselle and curry leaves to its list. Teoh usually sources his ingredients from homegrown farmers — you’ll be helping them tide through the disruption of food distribution and supply chain.

Order here. Delivery from 4-6pm. You can also tag #CookLikeDewakan to show them your version of the dishes you ordered.

VCR
Your social media feed doesn’t need to look so drab anymore now that VCR is delivering Home Starter Packs, which include sourdough, chipolata sausages, granola, turkey ham and tomato bean sauce, to recreate the perfectly Instagrammable big breakfast. The café has also extended its food kit menu to include pastas (pesto or lamb bolognese) and muffins for dessert. Java junkies would be pleased with the coffee selection too — VCR has introduced a concentrated espresso solution that you can dilute with water or milk for your caffeine fix.

Order from VCR Galloway here or VCR Bangsar here. Delivery hours from 9am-5pm.
