Cartier has garnered a reputation not only for the unparalleled excellence of its fine jewellery and precious products, but also for the sheer star power of those personalities chosen to emblemise its vision. Naturally, its most recent pick is no exception. The French house announced Academy Award-winning actress and producer Zoe Saldaña as its latest ambassador, expanding upon the pair’s relationship that has previously consisted of several collaborations.
Earlier this year, the American star debuted the maison’s high jewellery creation, the Panthères Versatiles, featuring a stunning 10.10-carat Zambian emerald, at the Academy Awards on March 2. Later at the Golden Globes, she presented the Melis high jewellery set for the first time, receiving her maiden win appropriately adorned with the dazzling honey and bee-themed necklace and earring combination. Back in 2023, Saldaña also attended the Academy Awards Vanity Fair after-party in a bespoke chainmail cape set with 150 diamonds.
“I am honoured to become an ambassador for Cartier, following many years of warm collaboration. I have long been an admirer of the maison’s boundary-breaking savour faire that creates incredible pieces of wearable art,” remarks Saldaña. Arnaud Carrez, the brand’s senior vice president and chief marketing officer, further notes, “[Her] talent, grace and effortless elegance have long resonated with the maison. This moment celebrates a relationship that has grown over many years and marks an exciting new chapter.”
Saldaña is best known for her role as the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s green-skinned assassin Gamora, as well as in James Cameron’s Avatar franchise and JJ Abrams’ Star Trek film. Her performance in Emilia Pérez as Rita Mora Castro earned her the Golden Globe, Critic’s Choice, SAG and Academy Awards for Best Lead Actress in a Motion Picture.
