Fashion designer Celest Thoi shares what to expect from her collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week

This year's #MBFWKL has a stylish line up of up-and-coming talent as well as established names in Malaysia’s fashion industry.

Taking place at Zepp KL from June 8 to 10, this year’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week has a stylish line up of up-and-coming talent as well as established names in Malaysia’s fashion industry. The event kicks off with brands like Fondest, Atelier & Xue_S, Justin Yap, Weihaoyong and Emri Vision, followed by Dickson Lim, Ivan Young, Cahaya Studios and Kree, before wrapping up with Outdwell, Coterie by Celest Thoi, NOIZ by A-ane and Jan Sober. Official partners for 2023 include Kimarie, MAC and Braun Büffel.

One of the more renowned names in the line-up, Celest Thoi gives us a quick look at what to expect from her new Cotorie collection.

Options: What’s your #MBFWKL 2023 lookbook like?
Celest Thoi:
I will be showing 24 looks from Coterie by Celest Thoi,  which will comprise all-white ensembles.

What was the source of inspiration for this collection?
This series is all about stripes and polka dots but interspersed with a lot of play on texture, although it’s still all-white as per Coterie’s signature DNA.

How do you feel now that fashion shows and events  are back in a big way?
I am so happy! It’s a wonderful feeling being able to create without restrictions and work closely with one another again.
