FERN Batik, the brainchild of Fern Chua that puts a contemporary spin on our traditional batik art of wax-resist dyeing, has curated a thoughtful gift that will help you stay safe, stylish and serene.
The limited edition kit includes a batik apron, batik face mask, tote bag and natural salts by Kushan, a beauty care and homeware enterprise founded by childhood friends Kush Linfield and Shan Shan Lim. Each item is adorned with colourful patterns and prints, and you can choose the items that’ll suit your mother’s taste. These creations also coincide with the brand’s zero waste initiative as they’re crafted from leftover batik that were used to make the brand’s signature fabrics.

Purchasing the home kit isn’t just a sustainable choice but it also honours mothers in more ways than one. Part of the proceeds from the sale will be channelled to Rumah Kita — an NGO that helps single pregnant mothers with maternity and baby care as well as housing — in the forms of household and food necessities.
FERN, which focused on Malaysian resortwear, has expanded its fashion label into an artisanal collective just last year, in which artisans from all over the world are invited to showcase their ethical bespoke lifestyle under the categories of home, jewellery and accessory.
