Warmer weather, longer days and blossoming flowers are the top reasons springtime is a favourite. French luxury jewellery company Van Cleef & Arpels, for whom luck and nature are cherished subjects, introduced the Lucky Spring collection in 2021 to celebrate the promise of new beginnings.

This year, the maison is stirring up excitement for the season with four new creations, namely two pendants, a bracelet and a Between the Finger ring. Each piece of jewellery showcases a picturesque outdoor scene: A ladybug living harmoniously with a plum blossom and lily-of-the-valley bud.

The bright and beautiful insect — believed to usher in good fortune, love and happiness — either rests or flutters on rose gold necklaces, bracelets and rings. It is brought to life using brilliant carnelian and deep black onyx with quirky dots in rose gold.

As for the floral elements, they are shaped from iridescent white mother-of-pearl, complete with an outline of golden beads. While plum blossoms convey the idea of vitality and renewed energy with their unusual characteristic of blooming in winter, lily-of-the-valley signifies good luck, hope and fresh starts.

These spectacular flora and fauna are a testament to the house’s craftsmanship. Precision and meticulousness played a big role in the creation process, from stone selection and cutting to jewellery setting and polishing, to ensure the motifs come together wonderfully.
