Singapore’s renowned skyline is poised for a significant transformation with a new US$8 billion development by Las Vegas Sands. This ambitious project will introduce an ultra-luxury resort and a 15,000-seat arena, with completion anticipated by 2030.

The forthcoming establishment promises an unparalleled guest experience, centered around a 570-suite hotel. Visitors will discover an extensive array of amenities, including diverse dining experiences, luxury retail boutiques, gaming and comprehensive spa and wellness centres. Furthermore, the project dedicates approximately 200,000 sq ft of premium meeting space, catering to both leisure and business travellers.

The property is being designed by the acclaimed Safdie Architects, led by Moshe Safdie, the visionary behind Marina Bay Sands and Jewel Changi Airport. Taking inspiration from the island’s lush urban greenery, the development will see his signature biophilic touch, with each suite having its own private terrace and garden.

Crowning the 55-storey tower will be the 76,000sq ft Skyloop, characterised by interlocking elliptical wings. This architectural marvel will offer 360-degree panoramic views of Marina Bay and the Singapore Strait.

The lower Skyloop weaves several points of public access, including an observatory, restaurants and lush rooftop gardens. Exclusively for hotel guests, the upper Skyloop will provide secluded experiences with private cabanas and infinity-edge pools. There will also be a cantilevered terrace for yoga and specialty events.

Flanking the new tower and the existing Marina Bay Sands will be a state-of-the-art arena, poised to become a premier destination for business, entertainment, and cultural exchange. Designed by global architectural firm Populous — renowned for iconic venues like the Sphere in Las Vegas, London's O2 Arena and the upcoming Shah Alam Sports Complex — the entertainment space is meticulously crafted to host the highest caliber of regional and international touring acts, concerts and large-scale live events.

The arena will be seamlessly integrated with both new and existing developments within the Marina Bay precinct, ensuring enhanced efficiency and pedestrian connectivity. This includes direct access to Bayfront MRT station and convenient linkways between Marina Bay and Gardens by the Bay.

Held on July 15, the groundbreaking ceremony brought together over 220 guests from around the world to commemorate this significant milestone. The celebration was officiated by Singapore’s Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Lawrence Wong; Minister for Sustainability and the Environment and Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations Grace Fu; Las Vegas Sands co-founder Dr Miriam Adelson, CEO Robert Goldstein and president and COO Patrick Dumont.

“With its opening in 2010, our founder Sheldon G Adelson embarked on a journey in Singapore with Marina Bay Sands and the people of Singapore that promised to change the face of tourism in this region. Fifteen years later, we have delivered on these ambitions and more,” said Goldstein.

“Marina Bay Sands is the world’s most successful integrated resort in history and the gold standard in the industry. It has been truly incredible to witness Mr Adelson’s vision come to life, and we are proud to carry his legacy forward with today’s groundbreaking ceremony for our new development here. We have every intention of delivering a product that will be the envy of the hospitality industry and ushers in a new era of luxury tourism in Singapore.”
