Elite Traveler, a private jet lifestyle magazine and “curator to the global luxury lifestyle of ultra high net worth individuals”, as indicated on its Facebook page, has compiled a list of the top 100 suites for 2018, giving us a rare glimpse into the exclusive and opulent hotel suites usually reserved for celebrities, world leaders and royalty.

The Royal Penthouse Suite at President Wilson Hotel in Geneva, Switzerland – a 12-bedroom apartment spanning 18,000 sq ft that occupies the entire highest floor of the hotel – tops the list, charging a whopping US$ 80,000 per night. The penthouse, which affords uninterrupted views of Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc from an outdoor terrace, hosted Michael Jackson, Richard Branson, Rihanna and Bill Gates in the past.

The staggering price also includes a private butler, chef and security team, as well as top-notch amenities such as a Bang & Olufsen BeoVision flat-screen TV and audio installation, billiards table, and – perfect for musical guests – a Steinway grand piano. The tight security features, equipped with surveillance cameras in the corridors, steely entry doors and bullet-proof glass windows, have made this suite a hot favourite among head of states, including Prince Albert II of Monaco and former British prime minister Tony Blair.

Needless to say, the list of world’s most expensive hotel suites is dominated by properties in Europe and the US. Here are the top 10 most expensive suites in the world:
