Milestone birthdays deserve to be celebrated with a bang, and for the 20th anniversary of its Big Bang collection, Hublot has set up a pop-up experience for local fans to join in on the festivities. Running until Aug 18 at The Exchange TRX in Kuala Lumpur, the activation dives into two decades of artisanship, innovation and the Art of Fusion that characterises one of modern horology’s most trailblazing creations.
At the centre of the pavilion sits an animated sculpture depicting a presentation of past Big Bang models. Evoking the essence of art galleries, the installation brings visitors back in time, showcasing the house’s bold design philosophy while standing as an architectural marvel in its own right.
Highlighting eight designs, the videos bring viewers on a journey through Hublot’s evolution using four defining themes. The first is Soccer, which began in 2006 with the limited-edition Big Bang Swiss Football Association Chronograph. The brand was the first of its kind to invest in the sport and its potential. This trend became core to the house’s identity, culminating in partnerships with UEFA Men’s Champions League, Europa League, Conference League and UEFA Women’s EURO 2025, as well as tapping Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappé as global ambassador.
The second theme is Pop Art, referencing the label’s support for creativity and culture that birthed the Big Bang Pop Art limited editions. Collaborations with contemporary artists at large like Daniel Arsham, Samuel Ross and Takashi Murakami meant embracing vivid colours and geometric patterns, transforming the watches into wearable artwork that expresses not only the maker’s daring spirit, but the wearer’s too.

The Big Bang Unico Yellow Magic and Blue Magic represent the Ceramic theme. The process to perfect the coloured dials on both, which maintain their saturated tones and are surprisingly scratch resistant for such a fragile material, took years of research and painstaking work. They demonstrate Hublot’s unconventional touch and steady determination.
Last but not least, the Sapphire theme puts the spotlight on the Big Bang Unico Sapphire line, comprising the futuristic transparent model that offers a full view of the movement inside and a pink-tinted sibling that exemplifies the manufacture’s passion for colour. In the clear and dyed versions alike, the mechanics seem to float on the wrist, suspended in the cutting-edge material — a product of technological prowess and awe-inspiring design.
